i believe spring has arrived here in north carolina. this week has been nothing but beautiful, sunshine filled days! i’m happy to take more walks and i think it’s almost time to dust off my bicycle and have a picnic in the park!
i made two new pillows! i love pillows. when stephen and i married i went a little pillow crazy and made a ton. no really, a ton! it was the first thing i learned how to sew and i made enough to make a king size quilt from all the fabric. since i made that quilt, our home has been lacking in the pillow section! i’m happy i was able to make two from random fabric i had.

i love fishnets and shoes with bows on them.
tea time accompanied by these cookies.
what’s the first thing you learned how to sew? mine is pillows, what’s yours?
cheers,

Haven’t been on line in a while. Loving the new look of the blog. The pink is so fresh! First thing I ever sewed was a hand pieced strip quilt. Then lots and lots of baby blanket.
I have pictures of some amazing vintage finds to show you soon. Can’t wait!
Thanks Joy! Stephen designed it for me
i can’t wait to see your findings!! by the way, you’ve totally inspired me to find a hutch! i love yours!
You know I also like the way fishnets and peep toe shoes look together. It has to be the smaller fishnet otherwise people tend to stare. I don’t remember what I learned to sew. I do remember my grandma teaching me to cross stitch at age 5 and me sewing my dress to my needle work. I’ve always been a bit ditzy.
that’s so nice of your grandma to take the time out to teach you when you were a little girl! both of my grandmothers don’t know how to sew, which is really surprising to me!
I totally loved it. I am the only one of three daughters that does “domestic skills” like that. It is surprising both of your grandmothers don’t know how to sew. It was a basic skill most women had back in the day.
I love your teacup & saucer!
thank you! i love drinking tea from a tea cup!
Lovely post! I love the clothes on the street corner!
The cookies yesterday looked very neat and sweet too! xoxo Lynn
