Hello, sorry it’s been so quiet around here! This spring has been filled with sewing dresses and embroidering skirts, I can’t wait to share them with you! Here are a few photos from these past few days.

You can watch the pie cutting ceremony here! I’ve been wanting to make a pie for some time now and jumped at the opportunity during Easter. I loved making it! It was a long process, but so much fun and I can’t wait to make another pie!

I used maraschino cherries -mainly because I couldn’t find any other kind of cherry. It turned out to be pretty tasty and sweet!

Crust. I’m going to share with you the most wonderful crust recipe ever. It’s from The Artful Parent and it’s delicious! I intended to make her Best Cherry Pie Recipe Ever, but I couldn’t find the type of cherries it called for -that’s why I had to use maraschino cherries. If you check out her cherry pie recipe, you can view her crust recipe and that’s what I made.

Latticing the pie was more difficult than I thought it would be. Perhaps it will be easier on the second try!

There’s only one way to eat a hotdog and that’s at a baseball game. I love baseball games! I have no idea what’s going on, but I like the atmosphere and I enjoy supporting our minor league baseball team! Last night Stephen surprised me and said, “Amber get ready! We’re going to walk to the Dash game tonight!” Oh, the happiness!

And there’s usually fireworks after the game!

If you’ve been reading this little blog for awhile, you know I love to go on walks! After we ate dinner on Easter, I suggested a walk!

The Moravian church in Old Salem  places flowers on every grave in their grave yard on Easter morning. Their grave yard is large being that it’s super old! I think the oldest grave is dated back to the late 1700′s!

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the best in the meat department. Perhaps it’s because I’m not a huge fan of eating meat. Not that I think it’s bad, I just don’t get that feeling of “wow, i could really go for some chicken tonight” -instead I crave a warm loaf of bread, fresh from the oven or roasted carrots…mmmm. My husband loves meat and he’s really great at preparing it and cooking it. So Stephen wanted to fix lamb for Easter dinner!

We picked up some spices from Fresh Market called “Anything Goes” which turned out to be very tasty! We also chopped up an onion and poured red wine and beef broth in the dish to marinade the lamb over night.

Lamb is best if it’s cooked slowly and rotated. Stephen ran sound for Centre Grove Sunday morning and I stayed home to rotate the lamb! Thanks to Stephen’s business, Independent Broadcast, I was able to watch the service live from home while I was cooking!

The lamb was delicious! I also fixed roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes and cherry cream pie (you can watch the video of that here). It was a lovely time!

a few days ago my sweet mother called me and asked if she could come by and give me a box full of embroidery floss. i thought “a box full” meant ten to twenty different embroidery flosses, i was excited but i had no idea what kind of happiness was about to happen to me.

one hundred and twenty different embroidery flosses all cataloged in old envelops. be still my heart. it was so cute and overwhelming!

mom said that there was an older lady who brought her collection to the Y and asked if anyone could use it, so she said her daughter could and boy am i ever grateful she did!
