I’ve watched Red Autumn grow this summer and it’s been an amazing experience. Today I want to share with you a little about that process and daily routine!
Recently my love for painting collided with the shop and I couldn’t be happier with the results. It began with We Are So Good Together —I wanted a simple print with roses for this framing project. I got out my paint supplies and canvas and went to work. It makes me giggle sometimes that it never occurred to me to mix painting and prints until this summer. I love to paint, it’s a mini mind vacation. It’s very relaxing; when I painted the yellow roses above, time flew by and I didn’t even notice. I was in my own little world.
This summer is the first time I’ve ever designed my website. This is a big deal for me, because I have no idea what I’m doing in photoshop. Before the New Year I made a list of goals for 2014 and conquering photoshop was one of them! I should also mention here that Stephen devoted as much time as he could to coding the shop and blog for me! I’m so thankful for his hard work!
Creating my first font happened this summer too. I named it 1920’s and I love it. I use it for prints and for Red Autumn’s blog! It’s simple, legible and looks great for quotes. Creating this font gave me the font bug though, I want to make more and I’m planning to this autumn.
Rachel introduced me to Pop-Up Market’s this summer and I’m so grateful for her help! I added stationary to the shop a few days before my first Pop-Up Market! It was a crazy week of hard work, but I’m so happy I did it.
The BEST part of pop-up market’s is meeting new friends! I’ve met so many lovely people who read this blog or follow me on instagram! It’s be so much fun to connect and make new friends.
My work day looks like this: every morning I wake up, get ready and have a Red Autumn review with coffee at our kitchen table. It’s become my favorite part of the day. After I finish, I get to work! First, packaging Red Autumn print and stationary orders. Second, I start shooting for Red Autumn projects and recipes! Basically, Red Autumn keeps me on my toes all the time and I love it! Best job ever.
If you have any designs, quotes or projects you would like to see in the shop and blog leave a comment below! I would love to hear all about it!
