Since the new year, I’ve enjoyed learning how to hand embroider! It’s slow and relaxing. When I begin a project I want to finish it right away, but hand embroidery forces me to take it slow.
Stitch by stitch, until its completed. Not only is it relaxing, but it’s extremely rewarding after you finish! These are my own little doodles; I’m not good enough to buy a pattern yet! I’m going to embroider a few of these little squares and then make a quilt from them. I think it would be a fun way to remember how I started to learn! If you’re considering learning how to embroider Wild Olive has a wonderful basics tutorial for beginners! If you are looking for a book, Aimee Ray wrote Doodle Stitching; its full of instructions for the cutest little doodles. And of course Pinterest is full of how to’s as well!

Oh wow! They are amazing! No way would I think you were a beginner! Can’t wait to see some more.
