I love homemade hot cocoa —warmed slowly on the stove and sipped in my own cup. There’s something magical about making your own cup of hot cocoa. Maybe because growing up I used Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix, and water which I’m pretty sure is a hot cocoa sin. Then in college I would order Starbucks hot cocoa; it’s better but it isn’t magic.
I wanted Narnia hot cocoa and I’m happy to say I found it. My Narnia magical ingredient is marshmallows and almond milk. Try it, you will love it. This recipe is for two big hot cocoa mugs.
+ 4 cups almond milk
+ 1/2 cup coconut sugar
+ 1/4 cup cocoa
+ 5 or 6 jumbo marshmallows
+ 1 tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients and cook on medium heat. Add more marshmallows on top or peppermint sticks. Stay warm and enjoy!
