It was a lovely spring, with its’ unfurled petals with grace and gentleness, filling each day with renewal and gratitude. As the days grew longer and the temperatures warmed, I reveled in simple joys—long unhurried mornings under the sleepy sun, allowing me to savor my coffee and breathe in the crisp, fragrant air. Molly’s wagging tail and Stephen’s laughter were the backdrop to my evenings. Whether a lively game of Scrabble, or a spirited round of Chess these moments were filled with laughter, learning, and boundless joy.
This spring reminded me that life’s true treasures often lie in simple, everyday moments, and I am immensely thankful for the opportunity to have fully savored them.
Mixing Magic: Aperol Spritz
Since making the Aperol Spritz post, I’ve become rather fond of them (as seen in several photos). It’s a delightful way to toast the day’s end.
With a twinkle in his eye, Stephen crafted these refreshing drinks several nights throughout the spring—the clinking of ice cubes and the gentle fizz of champagne mingled with the laughter of friends as the sun dipped below the horizon and the colors of the sky began to mimic the enchanting deep orange of the Aperol Spritz, creating an ambiance of pure joy and relaxation by the poolside.
It’s the Little Things
Spring left its mark with evenings spent reading and sewing, thunderstorms, travel, and “The Fall ” by Gregory Alan Isakov playing softly in the background as a theme song for the season.
Hilton Head
Hilton Head, South Carolina proved to be a delightful blend of business and pleasure, where the allure of coastal charm mingled seamlessly with the demands of a successful venture. Despite the touch of chilly weather that embraced the coastal town, the experience was nothing short of invigorating.
Each morning, as the sun peeked above the horizon, the sky was painted with hues of gold and pink that reflected off the tranquil waters, casting a spell that lingered long after the day had begun. Amidst the meetings and discussions, there was a tangible sense of achievement. It was a trip that merged work with fun, proving that even with professional responsibilities, the world has a way of gifting us with moments of awe and appreciation.
Lancaster, PA
I’m a Hobbit at heart, so being away from home isn’t my favorite way to spend my time, however, both the Hilton Head, SC and Lancaster, PA trips were a lot of fun. Our team had the chance to bond in a special way during this time—with leadership and with each other.
I am truly blessed to work with such wonderful and talented people.
Published
One of the most exciting things to happen in the spring was having my article published in Radiant Magazine. How To Endure the Silent Season of Childlessness.
“While the desire to be a mother is holy, your identity shouldn’t be tied to childlessness. Our identity is found in being made in God’s image and likeness — not in how successful we are, how loved, or our ability to have children. Life has many seasons. Seasons of joy, grief, hardship, and comfort. God uses every season for our good, and though we cannot see the complete picture of what he is doing, may we seek every opportunity to search for a way to witness God working all things together as he works in our waiting.”
Friend, you are no less loved by God if you are struggling with childlessness. It may feel like God has abandoned you, but he’s with you in the silence. I hope the article is encouraging to those who are waiting and also to those who may know someone who is struggling with childlessness.
And that’s a wrap for Spring 2023! I’ve been quiet mostly this summer because there is so much going on—new adventures and DIY projects are planned for this autumn. :)
