Second star to the right and straight on ’til morning. ”

Before we moved our bedroom was Space Black—I played off the fact that there were no windows in our bedroom and it was perfect. Super dark and all kinds of cozy.
Our new apartment is the opposite. We have beautiful large windows that beg to be opened every day. The light is at times otherworldly and I wanted to highlight how beautiful it is without being boring, because let’s be honest sometimes ALL white is boring.
Our ceilings are 17′ high. Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, being that high was kind of scary. After awhile I stopped thinking about it, played an Audible book and was fine!
When I was considering what style I wanted for our bedroom, at first I was dead set on removable wallpaper. But soon felt silly for wanting something with a white background when I already have white walls.
So I decided to use my old friend, the ink pad. However, this time around instead of a stamp, I used a stencil. This entire project cost $13.
I used the same reflective gold ink pad that I used for the Bee Stamped Wallpaper and I used this stencil. I also used a sponge brush to ‘pick up’ the ink. It worked really well.
This project took a lot of time, like 10 hours because of how large the wall is AND I actually measured between E V E R Y star. I nearly finished an entire audible book from start to finish. For me it was super relaxing, so if you are relaxed by tedious projects you are in for a treat, but for some this may be too much. And trust me, I get that—ha!
This morning, I woke up to a sea of stars enveloped in golden light. So yeah, all the time and effort was worth it…and I think Molly approves ;)
What do you think? Is this a project you would take on?
