I’ve been searching for two mid-century pieces for a while now and I am so happy I stuck to my principles—even if it meant being unorganized for a few months. Little by little, I’ve been planning for most of our furniture to be cohesive throughout our apartment; either marble or having a darker wood finish. In the photo’s below you can see there were a lot of surface marks so I knew I would need to sand and honestly I could have NEVER finished this project without Stephen! Seriously. Sanding solid oak is hard! Also, since we live in an apartment The Duncan’s let us sand in their backyard…thanks, friends!
Brass knobs *swoon*
The stain I used is called espresso—I love the contrast between the dark wood finish and brass knobs and I haven’t even polished them yet *yay*
Overall, it was a big project that took a lot of time to complete, but it was worth it!
