I’m not sure why, but I always catch some icky bug right after Thanksgiving. Perhaps it’s because we travel every year or the chilly weather. If you are sick too, or simply want something to warm you up on a cold night a Hot Toddy will do the trick.
I’m calling this recipe a Traditional Hot Toddy, because most recipes add tea or other spices (like adding ginger, mmm) I think the traditional recipe needs some love too —besides it’s really good. You will need:
1 1/2 oz. whiskey
1 cup boiling water
1 or 2 Tbsp local honey
Slice of lemon
Cinnamon stick
8 to 10 cloves
Boil filtered water in a kettle. Pour whiskey, honey and cloves in a cup and add boiling water. Stir with a cinnamon stick and add a slice of lemon.

I’m sipping this cozy drink while I type and it is delicious. Treat yourself tonight and make a Hot Toddy. Enjoy!
