Stephen and I bought this dresser when we were newly weds almost seven years ago!
It’s been black, teal, grey, yellow and now American White by Benjamin Moore.
Check out what it looked like before.
I spray painted the handles gold to match the unicorn lamp #priorities
Before I began repainting, I used a sander to sand down the previous antique yellow paint.
The magic is always in details. I used Target wrapping paper + mod podge to add a splash of color to the sides of the drawers. This part was probably the most time consuming, but it was worth it. Details matter friends.
* If you would like to do this, it’s pretty simple! All you need is wrapping paper, mod podge and a small paint brush.
1 | Cut out pieces of wrapping paper that fit your dimensions for your project.
2 | Paint a layer of mod podge to the surface of your project.
3 | Apply your wrapping paper. It will be easy to move around, adjust it if you need to.
4 | Finally, seal it with another layer of mod podge.
I always finish furniture projects with a coat of polyurethane to protect the surface. Since I had some satin left over from the hutch project I used that. This make over was super cheap. I had paint and polyurethane on hand, so the only additional items were gold spray paint and wrapping paper.
If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer in the comments! Thanks!
